01About this product
A thin round frame in stainless wire, 134 mm across the front, which makes it the narrowest option here and the one to try if the acetate frames sit wide on you. The wire construction brings the weight down to 18 g, and the round lens shape keeps the frame edge further from the line of sight than a square lens of the same width does.
Unlike the acetate frames, the nose pads here are on adjustable arms, so the height the frame sits at and how far it stands off your face are both things you can change. That is the real advantage of a metal frame. Barrel hinges rather than spring hinges, because a wire temple has enough flex of its own. Microfibre pouch included.

Set the height with the pad arms
Squeezing the pads closer together raises the frame on your face; spreading them lowers it. Move them a millimetre at a time with your fingers and check in a mirror between adjustments.
Set the stand-off the same way
Angling the pads outward moves the lens further from your lashes, which is what you want if you are getting lashes on the lens. Small changes make a large difference here.
Take them off with both hands
A wire frame is easy to pull out of true by hooking one temple. Two hands, straight off, every time. It is the single habit that keeps a metal frame straight.
Clean with the cloth
Microfibre dry or barely damp. The acetate temple tips can be washed with a little water; the wire itself should be kept dry.
Fitting these frames
There is one size. Work from the three numbers in the specification table above — 52 mm lens width, 18 mm bridge, 145 mm temples — and compare them with a pair of glasses you already wear comfortably; the same three numbers are usually printed inside one of that pair’s temple arms. If you are within roughly 2 mm on the lens and bridge figures, this frame will sit the same way. Both temples are wire-cored, so an optician can adjust them to your head and the adjustment will hold.

- Is this frame narrower than the others?
- Yes, 134 mm against 138 mm for the classic and 145 mm for the oversized. It is the one to try if the acetate frames feel wide.
- Why barrel hinges rather than spring hinges?
- A thin wire temple already flexes along its length, so a spring hinge adds little. A barrel hinge on a metal frame is also easier to tighten if it ever loosens.
- Can the pads be replaced?
- Yes, they are a standard push-fit silicone pad that any optician carries.
